Luxury Florida Condominiums

Our Progress

Bird’s Eye Views
August 2008

Ovation’s stately tower structure is reaching heights where birds are flying – and finding new perches. Indeed, our skilled crane operator Jack, has a bird’s-eye view of work below, feathered friends that rest on his crane jib and most of Pinellas County. His roost recently was raised to its final working height – now 362 feet “under hook,” meaning he will barely clear Ovation’s uppermost architectural roof element and still be able to service rooftop work until it’s time for him to return to terra firma.

We also poured floors 22-24 during July and reached a major milestone – the slab for the last “typical” floor. Plans for pouring the 2-foot-thick 25th floor “transfer” deck are under way. This is where the building steps in and columns are repositioned somewhat to define new floor plans for the four penthouse homes. Those homes plus the intricate roof structures constitute the roughly 95 final feet of concrete tower structure remaining. That work will take approximately eight weeks, after which we’ll thank and congratulate the crews who made it happen with a traditional celebratory “topping out” lunch.

Below, floors five through 18 are in various stages of finish, from initial masonry to setting cabinets and tile on the lower living levels.

Outside the footprint of the tower residences, Ovation’s three unique City Homes have been jump started with masonry, windows and, soon, interior framing.

On the amenities deck, the distinctive water feature that stretches 65 feet across Ovation’s pool is proudly standing in a graceful arch. This complex concrete structure will be home to a gentle curtain of water that falls on the pool surface and terminates as a fountain on the western end. It will surely be a signature amenity feature at Ovation – as unique in design and source of pride as the community itself.
