All Children’s Hospital – Bigger and Better

Colbie Caillat visits All Children's Hospital
Along with a burgeoning arts community, restaurants, retail shops, and diverse events throughout the year, downtown St. Petersburg is also home to All Children’s Hospital. One of the largest neonatal intensive care programs in the southeastern United States, the hospital treats patients from all over the country – and the world!

All Children’s moved to a new state-of-the-art facility in 2010. The new hospital provides more room for families and cutting-edge technology that their children need. Two Pediatric Intensive Care Units, a Cardiovascular ICU, Neonatal ICU, and a Cancer and Blood Disorders Center headline the expanded specialized care, while a Rooftop Playground, ICEE machines, Children’s Auditorium and individual rooms with space for parent sleepovers are the special touches families love and appreciate.

ACH depends on strong local community support. The Children’s Dream Fund has been making dreams come true for over 1,600 children with life-threatening illnesses for the last 30 years. Local professional sports teams – Tampa Bay Rays, Lightning, Bucs – show their support with player visits to the hospital as well as fundraising events.

Emeril Lagasse visited ACH and Zoe’s Edible Garden – a gift to All Children’s from Parkshore Grill chef and partner Tyson Grant and his wife, Sommer - on May 16th to help raise awareness for improving children’s health through healthy eating. Look for a return visit from Emeril on November 4th when he hosts a special event at The Club at Treasure Island to benefit ACH.

Vinoy Park, on the downtown waterfront, hosted Taste of Pinellas May 21 - 22, an annual benefit for ACH featuring headline musical artists and tastes from local restaurants. This year, all-star entertainment included performances by Chris Isaak, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy, and Colbie Caillat – who paid a special visit to patients and families at All Children’s, including an impromptu concert in the hospital playroom.

Upcoming fundraisers: tune into News Channel 8 on Sunday, June 12th for the All Children’s Hospital 2011 Telethon – “Celebrate the Miracles”; Rays on the Runway – fashion show with Rays’ players and their wives - June 29th. Please support All Children’s Hospital - an important part of our community!
Ovation Realtor Appreciation Party

Guest speaker Steve Edwards and JMC Communities CEO Mike Cheezem
In appreciation of our local realtor community, Ovation hosted a party on May 19th to thank our professional partners. Realtors toured four models and were updated on special new incentives for the remaining homes as we approach our final sell-out!

Special guest speaker Steve Edwards engaged realtors and other guests with a compelling motivational talk – “The Amazing Factor”. Drawing from his diverse experiences, Steve shared a simple road map to better relationships, greater results, and amazing rewards.

With humorous anecdotes to make his points, the crowd was enthralled and nodding in agreement, then lined up to purchase his book, “Who’s in Charge of YOU?” . Steve graciously autographed each copy….!

RE/MAX Metro Realtors Kathryn Zimring and David Vann
A Spanish tapas board, coconut shrimp, and beef chimichurri satiated the appetites of our hard-working realtors and perfect summer wines complemented the food. A special thank you to Olympia Catering and Catering by Lundy’s for outstanding food, drink, and service – bravo!

Congratulations to raffle winners – Patty Clark of Select One Realty (Dinner at Cassis and Chihuly tickets); Karen Lucas of Keller Williams Realty (2-night stay at Sandpearl Resort); and Stephanie Thompson of Jim White & Associates (iPad – 3G).

To all our professional partners – thank you for your efforts in making Ovation a near sell-out success!

Please call the sales center (727.898.1180) or email for a personal tour of Ovation!
From Claudia's Desk

A special thank you to all of our homeowners for their unyielding support to JMC and the Ovation sales staff. As we approach the sell-out phase of Ovation, our homeowners have gone above and beyond in teaming with us – graciously offering their community for events and fundraisers, partnering on marketing campaigns and testimonials, and serving as ambassadors for Ovation to the downtown community and prospective buyers – we are grateful to have you as part of our family!
Resident Spotlight

Bob and Shirley Nicholson first fell in love with the St. Petersburg area 27 years ago when they purchased a vacation home on Treasure Island. Home has always been Sparta, New Jersey, where they raised a family of four and still live nine months of the year - enjoying their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who live close by.

As time passed, Bob and Shirley decided that their Treasure Island vacation home (that sleeps 15!) on the Gulf of Mexico was just too big, so Bob spent his free time looking for something smaller and more suitable for their lifestyle. The downtown St. Petersburg waterfront captured their fancy - the parks, activity, and convenience of the area were very appealing. After exploring their options, Ovation won out, with its center-stage location, breathtaking views (especially love Albert Whitted Airport activity!), and professional staff - the Nicholsons became homeowners!

Although they are only here 3 months out of the year, the Nicholsons enjoy all the social aspects of living at Ovation – friendly neighbors, homeowner parties, Mahaffey Theatre productions, outdoor dining in downtown restaurants, and Bob especially likes his long walks each day along the waterfront. They have taken a vested interest in the community, meeting with Mayor Foster on the renovation of The Pier and suggestions for Bay Walk. We are so happy to have Bob and Shirley as part of the Ovation family!
